How Nani thinks about your books
Three ideas run through the whole app. Knowing them makes everything else obvious.
- Your bank statements are the source of truth. Every bank and card transaction comes from a statement you import, and Nani checks each statement's opening and closing balance against the bank's own numbers.
- Cash basis. Income counts when the money reaches your bank. Expenses count when they leave it. An invoice you sent is not income until it's paid, and a bill you received is not an expense until you pay it.
- Nothing important happens behind your back. Nani suggests, you decide. Every change is recorded in an audit log that can't be edited, with who made it: you, an import, a rule, or which AI and model.
